Club Halle Initiative
In support of the “Education First” brand promise, and recognizing the need for a 24 hour study space to aid EMU student’s in archiving academic excellence, Eastern Michigan University’s Student Government has successfully secured extended hours for Bruce T. Halle Library during four weeks throughout the fall semester. Extended hours were selected based on past library use and discussions with faculty, staff and student leaders, with an overwhelming consensus midterm and final exam periods created the greatest demand for 24 hour study space.
The project has been titled “Club Halle” by student leaders after a phrase commonly used by EMU students when they state where they will be spending their night studying.
The first period for extended hours will occur during midterms, Oct. 18-29, granting 24 hour access to the lower level. The second period of extended hours will take place during finals, Dec. 6-17, and will allow current students access to all floors of the library. Paradox Café, located on the lower level, will remain open for both periods of extended hours.
*Valid student ID is required for swipe card access to Club Halle after 12 a.m.
